Teaching and learning aid

FlashCardGenie is an educational iOS app. It is both a teaching and learning aid that facilitates the organised storage and retrieval of data researched and sourced by the user about any chosen subject. The data is formatted into a flashcard (FlashCard) with these cards grouped together as needed into flashcard sets (FlashSets). This allows users to build their own flexible library of classified information to suit their teaching or study goals.

Automated generation of self-tests

FlashCardGenie can then automatically generate either multiple choice or match to free text tests enabling the user to verify and consolidate their understanding of the subject matter.

Great for visual learners

The FlashCard's illustrating image plays centre stage in the design, aiding visual learners in particular as they seek to internalise new information and delivering a classic hook for effective association and recall.

Integrated search and retrieval

Premium features include fully integrated, fast, and intuitive research tools for identifying representational images, and unlimited sets of notes including text (eg definitions, examples, synonyms) and links (eg photos, videos, webpages) either manually or using a variety of standard internet API’s for speed and efficiency. This allows both teachers and learners to create FlashCards interactively as information is presented, for a rich, personalised glossary of organised data.

Fully scalable

As your collection of FlashSets grows, they can also be grouped further into FlashGroups and you can choose to filter your screens to present only data associated with the FlashGroups that you have explicitly selected. Your data is held securely in a high end resilient database always ensuring maximum performance.

Sharing for co-operative working

In addition, the system provides managed sharing options to facilitate co-operative working. This enables interactive guided exploration as well as an immediate learn and test cycle between teacher and students regardless of location as required.

Standard version fully functional

The standard app is fully functional using illustrating images selected from the operators personal iCloud store supported with manually input notes.

Premium features for enrichment and speed

Users can unlock premium features by purchasing time limited subscriptions.

Each screen is also supported by a short “How to” video guide for easy assimilation. An interactive on-boarding tour is initiated automatically whenever an operator logs into an empty system.
